Background of Rampal Upazila

 

Rampal upazila is situated on the north bank of Kumarkhali river. It was stablished as upazila on 24 March 1983. Its area is 276.45 sq km. There are total 17 unions. Later, a union was united with sadar upazila. Then, a new Upazila named Mongla Upazila was formed with 6 unions. Now there are 10 unions in Rampal Upazila. It is heard in the public, a man named Ram in Paul dynasty was first settled on the other side of the Kumar river. And  later, Rampal was named as his name.
